Parkinson´s Disease
DESCRIPTION OF PARKINSON’S DISEASE
Parkinson’s disease is a long-term nervous system disorder that especially affects movement. To date, there are no treatments that reverse the disease progression. Instead, available treatment eases the symptoms. To enable better understanding of the Parkinson´s patient, we have constructed the Quantify Parkinson´s Research Programme (Q-PARK)
REAL-WORLD EVIDENCE PLATFORM
Q-PARK contains real-world, nation-wide data from Parkinson’s patients and controls in Sweden with information on healthcare visits, medication use, demographics, and socioeconomics. This enables us to better understand patients and, for instance, analyze the number of healthcare contacts patients with PD have. Furthermore, Q-PARK enables us to analyze treatment patterns.
Among other things, with Q-PARK, we can follow patients’ Health Care Resource Utilization (HCRU). For instance, we can compare HCRU between different treatment groups. Besides HRCU, with Q-PARK we can map:
- Comorbidities
- Treatment patterns
- Demographics
- Socioeconomics
Below are two examples of analyses we can conduct with Q-PARK.

Figure 2 – Mean medication has decreases since 2013
