Anders Gustavsson presented the current evidence on the economic burden of dementia at the 8th Geneva Association Health and Ageing Conference in Toronto. The topic of the conference was insurance and dementia and it gathered global expertise in life and health insurance, dementia care and health economics to exchange their knowledge and experience. The current economic burden of dementia is a global challenge which will continue to increase. Today’s estimates of 604 billion USD globally, are projected to double in the next 20 years (World Alzheimer Report).
