Quantify’s Alexander Rieem Dun and Jonas Banefelt are co-authors on a recent publication on the effects of intensity and adherence to lipid-lowering treatment on the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with a recent myocardial infarction. Using Swedish national registers, the study finds that higher intensity and adherence is associated with significantly lower risk of major cardiosvascular events, consistent with findings from similar work in the UK, Germany, and France. The study also finds that both intensity and adherence are well-maintained in myocardial infarction patients during the first year following transition from secondary to primary care in Sweden.
