Using 10 years of national surveillance data from four Nordic countries, Quantify Research in collaboration with Pfizer found that a substantial amount of vaccine-preventable invasive pneumococcal disease remains present in elderly populations, despite the inclusion of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) in paediatric national immunisation programmes. Further, the choice of PCV used in paediatric immunisation programmes was associated with differences in serotype distribution and disease incidence amongst older adults.

The data used in this project was collected from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), containing infectious disease surveillance data from the EU member states. Get in touch to find out more!
