In Quantify’s latest publication co-authored by Christoph Abé, PhD, the research group conducted a field trial focused on the ICD-11 chapter on mental disorders which contains new diagnoses for impulse control disorders.

Using a vignette-based methodology, this field study examined the ability of more than 1,000 mental health professionals across the World Health Organization‘s Global Clinical Practice Network to apply the new ICD-11 diagnostic requirements. The study indicates that the ICD-11 diagnostic requirements represent an improvement over the ICD-10 guidelines.

The ICD is a global standard used by healthcare professionals worldwide. Involving mental health professionals in evaluating and updating diagnostic criteria helps ensure that the criteria are clinically and globally relevant, patient-centered, and reflective of the latest research and understanding of mental health disorders.
